The exact route is yet to be finalised, but will be around 2km, although entrants can tackle as many laps as they wish. The event is open to mums, dads, grandparents, and any other willing volunteers along with their pint-sized companions. One of the organisers, Simon Weatherall, who manages Winchester-based firm, Getfit121, said it was the first time that the event had been attempted. He said: “It’s open to everyone, although the idea came from the members of the mother and baby fitness classes that we run at Getfit121.”The organisers hope to raise at least £1,000 at the event. Proceeds will go to the National Childbirth Trust’s ‘Babies’ campaign, which is designed to promote the importance of breastfeeding.Visit www.justgiving.com/winchesterbuggypush for more details about the event.
