BABIES is a weekly drop-in breastfeeding support group for mums seeking support and information about breastfeeding. Funding from a number of sources has been exhausted and now BABIES urgently needs funds to allow it to continue.
Please join us for a fun packed family day! By making a small donation for you and your family to take part in the Buggy Push or 5km Fun Run you are helping BABIES to continue and getting fit at the same time!
Sponsorship: We encourage you to raise sponsorship for taking part in the event, and suggest a voluntary target of £100, although any amount you can raise would be gratefully received. It is run by Jane Moffett and Jennie Gavin, both NCT Breastfeeding Counsellors, and is held weekly on Wednesday mornings at the Lanterns Children’s Centre Winchester. 3 BABIES has provided a safe place for mothers to come for support, to ask questions, share their difficulties and meet other mothers with similar concerns. 4 "Without the support I received at BABIES I would not have been able to continue breastfeeding my newborn son" commented Sarah, user of the drop-in clinic in February 2009. 5 "The support BABIES has given me over the last few months has been invaluable and without it I think it is very unlikely that I would have breastfed my baby after the first couple of weeks." said Shona, mother of Fergus, now 7 months old. 6 Helen mother of a 2yr old and 8 month old said "BABIES was a lifeline to me when both my children were born. I did not realise how much it meant to me to be able to breastfeed until I had such difficulty providing milk. The emotional support I got was invaluable." 7 BABIES is now only running by very kind donations and fundraising events. It urgently needs more funds to allow it to continue.
