Winchester mums buggy push with Getfit121's help Raise over £8000

Winchester mums are planning a sponsored buggy push to raise money for the National Childbirth Trust.

The event at Winchester Rugby Club, Abbotts Barton, this Sunday (July 10) is appropriately, the same day as the British Grand Prix.

Organiser Helen Fisher said: “Everyone is welcome to join the buggy push, which takes the form of a leisurely walk around the grounds.

“It will start at 10.45am with a fun warm-up session from Simon and Stefan from getfit121.com. We’re hoping around 200 people will turn up on the day, seek sponsorship or make a donation to take part.”

The buggy push and fete will raise funds for the NCT’s weekly drop-in session at the Lanterns Children Centre.

The ‘Babies and Breastfeeding Information, Encouragement and Support’ session (B.A.B.I.E.S for short) is run by trained counsellors and is open to any mum in the Winchester area - includingStockbridgeAlresford and surrounding villages.

“Last year’s fete and buggy push raised around £3,000, and this year we need to beat that by raising £5,000 to keep the service going for another year,” said Helen. “Mothers find this help invaluable and we don’t want to lose the B.A.B.I.E.S service or see it reduced”, she added.
